I have never heard of appeasement winning a battle, let alone a war. Does someone need to be told?

The problem is ...
Wednesday’s Op-Ed on education asks, “Is there is something systemically broken in the Bibb system?” The answer is yes. The something is the Bibb County Board Of Education. It is accountable to no one. Not the District Attorney or U.S. Attorneys Office, as shown by the lack of a grand jury being called. Not by the voters, as shown by Wanda West’s re-election to the board even though she was part and parcel of the entire Dallemand fiasco. Not to the mayor or county commission as shown by the BOE’s ability to change county contracts at will with nothing more than grumbling (see Kumho). Rather than fight Gov. Deal and his proposal to take over failing schools, we should be asking him take over some of our schools. I think Dooly County Superintendent Julie Harrelson said it best, “I just want our kids to be successful, so if we need someone with fresh eyes with some authority that I don’t have, I welcome them.”

You must first identify a problem before there is the possibility of addressing/correcting the problem. The Bibb Public School System has had rules/regulations/procedures for many years, which the school board has had full authority to revise whenever they deemed wise and appropriate. During Romain Dallemand’s tenure, the board, based on its own investigation, did not provide governance of the superintendent and require his compliance with district rules/regulations/procedures or willfully allowed him to violate these rules/regulations/procedures.
A handbook, regardless of how well written or how successfully implemented in another school district, does not provide governance unless this board fulfills its responsibilities in accordance with district policies. If I was on the AdvanceED team, my questions to each board member, interviewed separately, would be, please explain to me how is this (new) manual, with many of the same board members going to produce improved governance? Were the prior rules/regulations/procedures flawed? If so, why didn’t the board act in a timely manner to address same?

Riddle me this
If Europe is at the mercy of Russia for its energy and we are now energy independent with a surplus, please explain to me why we still have restrictions relative to our exporting our surplus. It’s a lose-lose situation.

I was raised an independent Baptist. Our mother read the King James Version of the Bible to us every night, and if he committed the slightest wrong, we had to get on our knees and ask God to forgive us. We had to attend church every Sunday, day and night, and every Wednesday night. If we did wrong, we got a shellacking from both mom and dad, but we all grew up OK.
I now read all Bibles which have been translated into English, including India, Greek, Hebrew and of course the regular English Bibles. Any Bible I find of interest that is not translated, I go through a laborious time Of translating it. I do not understand preachers or teachers who think their chosen translation is the only Bible.
Ours is a newcomer in the world of Bibles. Philo’s method of interpretation is a great help in understanding all of the Bibles. If you read the KJV as is, Eve was not told to not eat of the tree of knowledge, only Adam. And nowhere in the Old Testament does it say that what she did was a sin. She was, given knowledge and gave knowledge to the man. If not for Eve, we would still be slaves to those calling themselves gods.
Hebrew: the tree imparts knowledge of Tav wa-ra, (good and bad.) Many still misinterpret the word Adam. Genesis 5:2 show that the Adams (Hu-Mans) meant mankind, not just the male. The gods put the Adams into the garden to care for it, till it and work it. Evidently, to feed the many Elohim (many gods). Genesis 3:22 says, “the Lord God said, the Adams have now become like us, knowing good and evil, he must not be allowed to reach out and take of the tree of life and eat and live forever.” What did they fear about mankind?
So they kicked mankind out of the garden of Eden. Gen. 3:24. No one should mistake the early people of the world as Christians. They were not. Moses, Joshua and David killed millions of people and destroyed many nations, including their own people. An estimated 1 million or more people and 21 nations. Many preachers and teachers say that the words of the Bible are inspired by God. Really, the KJV has been changed at least 26 times. The only Bible that has not changed that I can find is the Bible of India. One must realize that the writers of the Bible, as we know it, were working from scraps in bits and pieces, the earliest dating about 300 AD and filling in what they thought needed to be filled in and said to make religion correct for us.
Many of the words were not translatable into English, so they had to add what they thought was correct. Many of the English words did not mean the same as the words they were translating, so once again they used their own words. As to women preaching, Mary Magdalene, according to the Catholic Church was the disciple of disciples. Many lies were told about her and many lies are still being told about her. She was never a prostitute. She was closer to Jesus than any of the other disciples. As to the seven demons cast out of her, each of them related to the seven deadly sins. Demons in Latin and Hebrew can also mean angels. She was called a sinner in Luke.
What one must realize was that she followed, along with all of the women of that time, the moon god SIN. So they were all known as sinners. Corinthians 11:5, can be interpreted to mean that women have the right to prophesy and preach. Corinthians 14:3-5, according to many of the interpreters of the old Bibles, say that it was added later by a copyist rewriting the Scriptures. They did not believe Paul, stated this at any time.
As to Isaiah 7:14, the prophet was talking about the king of the city that currently was colluding with some of the Israeli tribes to attack Judah. Then it was given to him in a vision that an Almah (young woman) would have a child that would not know good or evil until the king and the Israeli tribes have been destroyed.
Isaiah took witnesses and went in to a church or temple prophetess and had sex with her and she conceived. It was never about Jesus, even though some of the disciples and preachers try to make it so. Many people and preachers have been saying since time beginning that the end of time is near. Only the great creator knows the time of the end. Mark13:32 “Not even the angels know of it.”
