A vote for Michelle Nunn is a vote for two more years of President Obama and is also a vote for eight more years of Harry Reid. Reid has 352 bills sitting on his desk, and 98 percent of them were passed with bipartisanship in the House. That is how Obama can stand up on the podium and lie about a do-nothing Congress. The numbers never lie. Currently, 352 bills that passed the House are awaiting action on Reid’s desk. Of these bills:
Nearly 70 percent passed with two-thirds support or more.
More than 50 percent passed with no opposition at all.
And 55 were introduced by Democrats.
And still, Reid refuses to bring them up for a vote.

Here we go again?
President Lyndon Johnson led us down the garden path in 1964. He said no American boys should die for Vietnam. Then he sent “advisers.” More than 58,000 dead “advisers” later, what did we have? Now Obama is saying the men and women he is sending are simply advisers. Do we fall for it again? I hope not.

Leave it to the politicos to dump on the taxpayer. Taxpayers shell out a quarter to one-third of his/her salary to the established government to pay for the free-ride society, called welfare.
Peach County says it will settle for one mill. Hah. One mill today, one mill tomorrow. Where do they stop? I have yet to see a piece of new road construction in Peach County in the past 20 years. The non-existing Russell Parkway extension has been a topic of discussion since Uncle Hector was a baby. You can see how far talk will get you.

Law of retaliation
According to the Wall Street Journal (8/14), the Obama administration put a freeze on sending Hellfire missiles to Israel. This is welcome news. It is time to end all military aid to Israel, which recently killed about 2,000 Palestinians in Gaza while suffering less than 70 Israeli deaths.
United Nations observers in Gaza estimate that 30 percent of deaths were children. This is horrible overkill by the Israeli military, even though Hamas rockets started this latest war.
Ironically, the Israeli government ignores the Jewish holy book, the Torah, on the lex talionis, or law of retaliation, which teaches only “an eye for an eye.” (See Exodus 21, Leviticus 24, Deuteronomy 19, etc.) The Israeli government is certainly not a godly entity.

Thank you Joe
I would just like to thank Joe Hubbard for his letter on Michele Martin. If she were running with her own name, no one would know who she is. She has to run on her dad’s name. She is not a Georgian any more than I am. She was raised in Washington, D.C.
I am sorry that both candidates are already slinging mud. Why can’t they just say what they would like to do once they are in office instead of throwing bombs at each other?
