PERRY -- A special election to replace a city council member ended Wednesday without any new candidates.
Mia Geiger, 37, a licensed esthetician, will face Robert Jones, 30, a youth minister. Both qualified Monday and have lived in Houston County about three decades.
They are competing for the District 2 Post 1 slot vacated by Joe Posey, who had more than three years remaining in his second term. He resigned Aug. 1 to take care of a sick family member.
The special election will take place on the same Nov. 4 ballot as other elections, including races for the U.S. Senate seat.
Never miss a local story.
The district covers northeastern Perry.
