Macon-Bibb County will get a rebate of more than $25,000 Friday for energy efficiency.
Georgia Power is scheduled to present the check to the Facilities Management Department, a reward for power- and money-saving improvements, according to a release from Macon-Bibb spokesman Chris Floore.
In the last year Facilities Management has installed efficient lighting at seven parks or recreation centers and given the new tax commissioner’s office on Third Street efficient lights and a new roof with a reflective coating. That qualified for a rebate from the utility’s Commercial Energy Efficiency program, which has handed back more than $52,000 to Macon-Bibb since 2011, Floore said.
