All Houston County libraries are changing some of their hours, starting this week.
The new hours start Tuesday morning at the Perry Public Library’s temporary site at 1530 Sunshine Ave., in the former Perry Primary School. The library will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday instead of noon, staying open until 8 p.m.
The Nola Brantley Memorial Library in Warner Robins will stay open two hours later Tuesday, with new hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Centerville Public Library will open earlier and close later Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Never miss a local story.
J. Sara Paulk, director of the Houston County Public Library System, said the two additional hours per week were selected by each library’s director after part-time jobs were reconfigured when another employee left. The libraries also are looking to use some additional state money to buy books to support science, technology, engineering and math -- areas known as STEM.
