To honor Black History Month and National School Counseling Week, Macon City Council President Miriam Paris presented proclamations by the city of Macon.
After the proclamation of Black History Month, local NAACP President Al Tillman thanked the city and those in attendance. He also introduced Firehouse Productions, a group of actors and playwrights visiting Macon from London, England.
The council also honored Bibb County school counselors. Flanked by Councilmen Lonnie Miley and Rick Hutto and members of Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Councilwoman Elaine Lucas presented a proclamation celebrating their 20th anniversary.
