The Bibb County school board is set to discuss the system’s strategic plan at a called meeting at 4 p.m. Friday.
It is the only item included on the agenda for the meeting at the system’s board meeting room.
The called board meeting comes one week before school officials are to unveil the full plan to the public at the Macon Coliseum.
The strategic plan is expected to bring a major overhaul to the schools to improve student achievement. In January, school Superintendent Romain Dallemand said students will choose their schools based on their academic interests under the plan.
Dallemand planned to discuss the matter with board members in groups smaller than a quorum that would have been closed to the public. However, after an inquiry from the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, he reversed course on the plan to hold those meetings.
