Teacher accused of texting porn to student
A West Laurens High School teacher is on leave while authorities investigate an allegation of inappropriate communication with a 16-year-old student, according to Laurens County Superintendent Jerry Hatcher and sheriff’s officials. The teacher has not been in class since Wednesday while the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office investigates the case.
“It did not occur at school,” Hatcher said. “Because it is a personnel issue ... at this point and time, I can’t say much.”
A Laurens County Sheriff’s Office news release stated the 16-year-old received a pornographic video text from the teacher. Deputies seized a computer from the teacher’s home Oct. 1.
The teacher has not been arrested, the sheriff’s office release stated.
