An employee at Citi Trends, an apparel shop on Mercer University Drive, recognized a couple of women when they walked in Feb. 16. They’d shoplifted there before. One of the women was pregnant. According to a Bibb County sheriff’s report, the pregnant woman went into the boys’ department, picked up a $32 pack of four T-shirts and headed for the exit. She didn’t pay for the shirts, and on the way out the door she told someone with her, “They can’t touch me because I’m pregnant.” The shoplifter rode off in a white SUV.
