The June 27 call was dispatched at 2:40 a.m. as a “robbery by sudden snatching.”
A Bibb County sheriff's deputy answered the call and soon rolled up at a house on Jadan Place in southwest Macon’s Village Green neighborhood.
The deputy’s report tells the rest: “I met with the complainant (a 32-year-old woman) who stated she received a call from ‘Nokie’ who told her he had some marijuana for sale. A short time later Nokie arrived at the victim’s as a passenger in a small, dark-colored SUV. ... The victim gave Nokie $20 for the marijuana. The victim said when she looked at the marijuana, she decided it wasn’t what she wanted and requested her money back. Nokie wouldn’t give her money back and then ... drove off. The victim held on to the vehicle for about 40 yards until she fell.”
The woman was treated for cuts and scrapes. No one was charged, as there was no evidence of a crime.
