A dispute over french fries at Wendy's on Zebulon Road led to an assault last month, and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is working to identify a woman of interest related to the crime.
After waiting several minutes in her car for the fries she'd already paid for at the drive-thru window, a woman walked inside the restaurant to check on her order about 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, sheriff's Lt. Randy Gonzalez said. The cashier handed the woman a bag of the fries while another woman, who'd apparently ordered the same kind of fries, watched.
"She felt like, I guess, that those were hers," Gonzalez said of the woman who was spotted on surveillance video standing at the counter. She was wearing a brown jacket, light colored shirt and pants with brown boots.
With fries in hand, the woman who'd been through the drive-thru got back in her car, Gonzalez said. The woman at the counter followed her outside and "supposedly tapped on the window to get the lady's attention," Gonzalez said. "The victim got out of the car to see what (the lady) wanted. At that point ... it's reported that the lady in the picture grabbed the victim physically and assaulted her over some fries."
Anyone with information about the crime or identity of the woman is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
