Bibb County grand jurors indicted former treasurers for two Bibb County elementary school PTO programs Tuesday in separate cases of alleged embezzlement.
Eloise Maxine Reid, 48, a former treasurer for Vineville Academy’s Parent Teacher Organization, and Jennifer Lynn Edwards, 39, a former treasurer for Skyview Elementary’s program, each are charged with fiduciary theft by taking, according to indictments filed in Bibb County Superior Court.
Reid allegedly wrote 19 checks, amounting to $33,975 taken, between April 19, 2013, and Aug. 11, 2014, according to the indictment. Each check signifies a separate count of theft.
The first check, written for $2,500, was the only one made payable to Reid. Others were made out to Divine Business Solutions, Divine Business Solutions and Services or DBS&S, according to the indictment.
