A 21-year-old Milledgeville man was grazed by a bullet Sunday afternoon after leaving his grandmother’s house on Lake Drive in Milledgeville, according to a police news release.
Police were dispatched to Oconee Regional Medical Center just before 4 p.m. after Antonio Smith arrived for treatment. Smith’s girlfriend told police she and her infant son, who she shares with Smith, were in the car when she heard a popping noise, according to the release issued Wednesday.
When Smith realized a bullet had struck his head, he drove to the hospital. The bullet didn’t appear to have entered his skull but grazed his head, according to the release.
Police think the shooting is related to other recent shooting incidents in the 600 block of North Clark Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Keith Quattrocchi at 478-414-4072 or the police tip line at 478-414-4413.
