Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the shooting of two men who showed up at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, with gunshot wounds Saturday night.
Zonderius Fort, 18, of Macon, said he was walking near the corner of Pio Nono and Montpelier avenues when four black males drove by in a gray car. They fired shots at him and drove off; one bullet hit his right leg, Fort told deputies. He called a relative who drove him to the hospital, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Gabriel Jackson, 25, of Macon, said he was at a house on Winship Street -- only a block or two from Fort’s location -- when shots were fired into the house. One bullet hit his right hand, and a relative drove Jackson to the hospital, he told investigators. But Jackson refused to give an address and “was not very cooperative,” the report said.
Fort and Jackson arrived at the hospital shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and deputies were called. Both men were listed in stable condition, and no description of the suspects was available.
