Milledgeville police have arrested a second suspect in an Aug. 16, 2013, armed robbery at the 7 four 7 Convenience Store.
The first suspect, 40-year-old Ernest Greene Jr. of Atlanta, was charged four days after the heist with armed robbery, multiple gun charges, theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction and giving false statements. Then the case went cold, according to a police news release.
Tabius Diunite Ellis, 30, of DeKalb County, was charged with armed robbery Wednesday, according to the release.
A clerk told officers that a lone gunman ordered her to the ground at gunpoint at about 5:27 a.m. and took a large amount of money. Patrons were inside the store at the time of the robbery, but they were in the video gambling room and were unaware of the heist, according to the release.
Police credit the advancement of technology and the “determination of a thorough investigator” with the second arrest.
