Bibb jail receives second Georgia Medical Association accreditation
The Bibb County jail has received its second Georgia Medical Association accreditation.
The designation, last awarded to the jail in 2011, recognizes that the facility meets nationally recognized standards of health care and represents a constitutionally acceptable level of care, according to a news release.
A team of surveyors visited the jail to conduct an audit in August 2014.
Never miss a local story.
Only eight county jails in Georgia hold the designation, according to the release.
