A family argument led to Monday’s shooting death of a 26-year-old man on Haywood Circle in Crawford County.
Ben Tyler Rowland’s body was being taken Tuesday to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta, said Crawford County Coroner Allen O’Neal.
“He was in the yard cutting grass and went in the house and got into an argument,” O’Neal said. “It was an ongoing family dispute.”
The killing happened just after 11 a.m. Monday at Rowland’s grandmother’s house and the shooter was taken in for questioning, but was released, O’Neal said.
“A lot of time on something like that, they won’t charge them at first and let the grand jury hear the evidence,” O’Neal said.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office did refer to the incident as a homicide in the initial news release that promised more information would be released later.
