The trial has been postponed for a man accused in the 2008 fatal shooting death of a woman at her east Macon home.
Benjamin Finney, 36, and Marlon Jackson, 35, are charged with murder in the Feb. 4, 2008, death of Gwendolyn Cole. Bullets bombarded Cole’s home moments after she answered the door to her house on Bradstone Circle.
Finney’s trial was set to begin Monday in Bibb County Superior Court.
Lawyers gathered Friday for a hearing pertaining to a federal wire tap that included about 4,000 phone calls. The wire tap allegedly yielded a conversation between Jackson and Finney in which they talked about assault rifles prosecutors contend were used in Cole’s killing.
Never miss a local story.
Finney’s lawyer has attacked the way the wire tap was conducted, seeking to keep jurors from hearing about it.
Both sides requested the postponement Friday.
A new trial date has not been set.
