The Wrightsville Police Department arrested a Dublin man Monday in connection with the shooting of six people at a club early Sunday morning.
Michael Harvey, 21, of Dublin, was charged with one count of aggravated assault, according to a news release. He turned himself in at the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. More charges will be added, Police Chief Aaron Price said.
A motive for the shooting has yet to be determined, Price said. He said that currently, investigators aren’t looking for any other suspects, but that could change as the investigation continues.
Price said five victims in the shooting are in stable condition at various midstate hospitals. A sixth victim has been released. Price declined to release the names of the victims.
The six victims were at Ed’s 8-ball club on Idylwild Drive about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, long after the club had closed at midnight.
“There was just some of the crowd that lingered out in the street,” Price said. “People from Dublin came over after the business closed, and that’s when it started.”
About 50 to 60 people congregated at the scene.
“In a normally quiet town, this was quite a night,” he said.
Wrightsville police were assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the GBI and the Dublin Police Department during the investigation.
