WARNER ROBINS -- Police are seeking to identify a man accused of fatally shooting a dog in the head.
The man is sought on animal cruelty charges, according to a Warner Robins police news release.
Friday morning, Warner Robins police officer Ed Smith found the dog’s body off a road in a wooded area within the city limits.
Security camera photographs show three people in a red, four-door Chevrolet getting a dog out of the vehicle. The suspect -- a tall, slender black male wearing dark pants, possibly blue jeans, and a white, red and blue shirt -- had a gun in one hand while holding the dog in the other, the release said. He was smoking a cigarette in the photos.
The dog appeared to have been nursing based on one of the photos picturing the dog shortly before its death.
Anyone with information is asked to call Smith at 478-302-5392.
