The wife of WMAZ-TV anchorman Frank Malloy was charged with DUI in connection with a June 2 wreck on Rivoli Drive.
GBI test results showed that Marilyn Kay Malloy had a blood-alcohol level of 0.333, more than four times the legal limit, according to an arrest warrant released Friday.
Malloy, 54, also was charged with failure to maintain a lane, according to a second arrest warrant.
She turned herself in to authorities Friday morning and was released about 30 minutes later on a $2,500 bond, according to jail records.
Attempts to reach Malloy for comment Friday were unsuccessful.
Malloy was critically hurt when her Chevrolet Malibu veered off Rivoli Drive, down an embankment and struck a tree near Wesleyan Drive about 1:50 p.m. June 2.
Witnesses said Malloy’s car went off the right side of the road, came back onto the road and then went off the left side before striking the tree, according to one of the arrest warrants.
One witness told authorities she was “in fear of being struck head-on” and stopped her car.
Malloy received an outpouring of public support after the crash.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Malloy said she didn’t remember many of the details of the wreck. She said she’d driven to a nearby pool to sit out in the sun. She’d had a chest cold for several days and had a breathing treatment the week before.
Malloy told The Telegraph she left after about 30 minutes.
The wreck happened on her way home.
She spent 10 days in the hospital, two of them on a respirator.
Malloy sustained a broken sternum, broken ribs, lumbar fractures in her lower back, a fractured hip and cuts on her forehead.
She underwent surgery and rehabilitation to treat her injuries.
