PERRY -- A 27-year-old Perry man is accused by police of twice burglarizing a Perry church.
Demetrius Darnel Jones also is accused of burglarizing a nursing home’s training center and shoplifting a case of candy bars from a convenience store, said Perry police Capt. Heath Dykes.
Jones was arrested Thursday during a routine traffic stop on Bear Drive. He already was a suspect in the burglaries, with additional arrests expected, Dykes said. Police also have Jones on a store surveillance video shoplifting the Snickers, he said.
Jones is accused of the July 11 and July 18 burglaries of the Living Faith Family Worship Center on Lee Street. Stolen were a refrigerator, monitors, a bass guitar and other musical instruments, Dykes said.

Jones also is accused of burglarizing a training center of the Summer Hill Nursing Home on Gordy Street on July 14 during which flat-screen TVs and a computer projector were stolen, Dykes said. Jones was charged with three counts of burglary and one count of shoplifting, Dykes said.
A Thursday search of Jones’ home on Gaines Drive produced some of the stolen goods, police said.
