Bibb County grand jurors indicted two men Tuesday in the April shooting death of a man on east Macon’s Forsyth Avenue.
Bernard Bullard, 24, of Tina Drive, and Markel Devonte Parks, 18, of Morningside Drive, are charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and two counts of violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act, according to an indictment filed Tuesday in Bibb County Superior Court.
Bullard previously was indicted in the case in July.
Bullard and Parks are accused in the April 21 fatal shooting of 18-year-old John Johnson III.
An eyewitness signed a statement saying Bullard was the shooter and picked him out of a photo lineup, according to an arrest warrant. A witness also told police that Parks helped confront and surround Johnson while Bullard shot him.
Tuesday's indictment alleges Johnson was a rival gang member, but doesn’t name his gang. The indictment alleges Bullard and Parks are members of the East Macon Family gang.
Bullard and Parks are being held at the Bibb County jail, according to jail records.
