Four suspects from Atlanta have been arrested in connection with the burglary of AR-15 semi-automatic rifles from Bass Pro Shops in Bibb County late Sunday night, according to a news release from Bibb County Sheriff David Davis.
Bibb sheriff’s investigators and Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were notified Wednesday morning that one of the stolen AR-15 rifles from Bass Pro was recovered during a traffic stop in Atlanta on Tuesday night around 10 p.m.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers stopped a silver Toyota Camry with a Louisiana license plate.
During the traffic stop, officers recovered a stolen AR-15 rifle, a baggy of methamphetamine and less than an ounce of marijuana.
Officers discovered that the AR-15 was stolen from Bass Pro Shops in Bibb County due to the information that was placed on the National Crime Information Center database by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The four occupants of the vehicle were arrested and were held for Bibb sheriff’s investigators and the ATF agents. It is undetermined at this time if the persons arrested are the suspects directly connected with the actual burglary of Bass Pro.
Bibb investigators and A.T.F. agents are now working in cooperation with the Atlanta Police Department to help identify the suspects who burglarized Bass Pro and are assisting in the recovery efforts of the other 16 AR-15 rifles.
The suspects, three males and one female, are all from Atlanta.
Phillip Brandon Kemp, 20, and Trayvis Dwong Gray, 22, are both charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property.
Gray has also been charged possession of methamphetamine. They are currently being held in the Fulton County Jail.
Eric Stewart, 24, is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail.
Tonishia Lee, 20, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and was released on a $5,000 bond, according to the Fulton County jail records.
