After a report of gunfire during Cherry Blossom festivities Saturday night in downtown Macon, police report the arrest of five people.
Officers determined a shot was possibly fired near Walnut Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard as crowds were leaving Central City Park, not the street party, according to a Monday morning news release from the Macon Police Department.
Three people were arrested for disorderly conduct Saturday night at Central City Park: Tyejuan Maurice Taylor, 18; Travion Lorenzo Veal, 27; and Tyran Julian Thomas, 17.
After reports of fights the previous weekend, extra officers were added to patrol the downtown venues, the release stated.
Police arrested Carol Ann Daniels, 61, and Michael Dwayne Davis, 42, and charged them with marijuana possession at Poplar Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
No one was hurt in the incidents, according to the release.
