A North Carolina man is accused of leading Georgia State Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase down Interstate 75 in a stolen vehicle Monday morning.
Jeffrey Michael Feather, 36, was being held Tuesday in the Bibb County jail on felony charges of theft by receiving, aggravated assault and eluding police.
A trooper in Forsyth attempted to pull over a southbound white GMC Yukon based on an OnStar security alert that the vehicle had been stolen, said GSP Sgt. Kevin Rexroat. The driver, later identified as Feather, fled and a chase ensued.
Feather exceeded speeds of 100 mph in the 53-mile chase that ended when Rexroat, who picked up the chase in Perry, executed a pit maneuver in Dooly County.

Feather is accused of attempting to ram trooper vehicles as he weaved in and out of traffic while attempting to elude authorities during the 25-minute chase, Rexroat said. No one was injured, he said.
