A man was shot in leg after leaving a business on Montpelier Ave. in Macon on Wednesday night.
The victim was leaving the Family Foods store when he heard “what sounded like a lot of gunfire,” according to a news release issued Sunday by the Macon Police Department. The victim was running toward a friend’s house when “he felt a stinging sensation which was a gunshot wound.”
During questioning by police, the victim -- who was shot once in the right leg -- was not forthcoming with information and gave conflicting accounts of the situation, the release stated. The victim was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia where he received treatment for a non life-threatening injury.
There are no suspects, and police continue to look for witnesses.
