Bibb County deputies arrested a man Monday on multiple charges after he allegedly threatened members of his family with a knife, including his wheelchair-bound mother, according to a sheriff’s report.
Tommy Glenn Whittington, 50, of Mount Pleasant Church Road, was charged with criminal trespass-family violence, cruelty to children and terroristic threats-family violence after he allegedly verbally abused and threatened family members with a knife, the report stated.
The report said Whittington got upset and created a mess. He allegedly threatened his mother, telling her he would cut her throat and push her out of her wheelchair.
Two minor children were at the scene before fleeing with their parents.
Deputies arrested Whittington and recovered a knife at the scene.
No one was reported injured. Whittington was taken to the Bibb County jail.
