Bibb County investigators arrested three men on charges related to metal thefts from several AT&T phone towers in west and south Bibb County, according to a news release.
The release said an e-mail tip led investigators to arrest three men this week. Investigators have issued a warrant for a fourth man in relation to the thefts.
Those charged were Joseph Dennard Melton, 36, of Maureen Court, who has been charged with theft by deception, theft by receiving and Superior Court probation violation; Michael Hosea, 32, of Colaparchee Plantation Drive, charged with theft by receiving stolen goods, theft by receiving and Superior Court probation violation; and Cecil Stanley Pierce Jr., 25, of Lizella, charged with theft by receiving stolen goods. Pierce also has been charged with hindering and interfering and Superior Court probation violation by Macon police.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help to find David Richard Clance, 26, from south Bibb County. Officials said the metal thefts left many without phone service in the affected parts of the county.
