Macon-Bibb Fire Department Sgt. Ben Gleaton has concluded that someone set fire to a house in Village Green shortly before 3 a.m. Friday.
Crews arrived to find multiple fires inside the empty home at 2817 Shamrock Lane that sustained moderate damage.
“There was more than one area of origin in a vacant structure, and there was an odor in the house consistent with ignitable liquid,” Gleaton said.
The same house burned several months ago, he said.
Gleaton also declared two fires Thursday in a house in the 800 block of West Grenada Terrace off Houston Avenue were deliberately set at about 3 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
“You don’t have two fires in the same house in one night,” he said.
The first blaze did minor damage, but the house sustained moderate to heavy damage the second time, he said.
