A Macon police officer fired shots at a teen driver who tried to run him down early Monday morning in east Macon.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m., the driver refused to stop for the officer at Millerfield Road and Jordan Avenue and rammed the patrol car during a chase, according to a Macon Police Department news release.
When the officer got out of his car at the entrance of Lakeview Apartments on Recreation Road, the driver hit the gas and tried to hit him, the release stated.
After the officer fired two shots at the fleeing vehicle, he got back into his squad car and chased the vehicle into the apartment complex. The driver and three passengers tried to run but were caught.

The juvenile driver was charged with aggravated assault, the release stated.
