A man claiming to be a police officer offered to teach classes and sold “police grade Mace” to a business June 30, according to Macon police.
The man, who identified himself as Jason Powell of the Crime Awareness Task Force at Macon police precinct two, taught employees at Statewide Healthcare Inc. a self-defense and gang awareness class, according to a police report.
At least one woman paid $50 cash for a can of “police grade Mace,” but the product was never delivered, according to the report.
Police have no knowledge of Powell being an officer.
