Valdosta police arrested a Macon man and charged him with arson and theft by taking-auto Saturday after he allegedly set fire to an apartment complex.
Lt. Aaron Kirk of the Valdosta Police Department said Nicholas Darnell Bishop, 25, of Macon, is in the Lowndes County jail on those charges as well as a DUI charge from the Georgia State Patrol.
Kirk said Bishop and his girlfriend got into an argument in her apartment at the Park Chase Apartments on Old Statenville Road in Valdosta. After the girlfriend left, Bishop allegedly set fire to her apartment, and the fire spread to other apartments in the complex, Kirk said.
No one was injured in the fire.

Kirk said Bishop then allegedly stole a car, tried to flee the scene and got into a wreck. GSP troopers arrested Bishop on DUI and other motor vehicle violation charges.
