A 37-year-old Bibb County man now faces a charge of homicide by vehicle more than three weeks after a predawn accident on Skipperton Road.
Myrtis Green was booked into the Bibb County jail about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, according to jail records.
About 12 hours earlier, Elbert Banks III died of blunt force trauma at 5:45 a.m. at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.
Investigators determined Green’s car struck Banks on his bicycle while he was riding in the dark on Skipperton Road about 4:30 a.m. May 20.

According to sheriff’s investigators, Green drove past his driveway in his 1987 Cadillac and made a U-turn before he struck Banks. Green allegedly did not stop after the collision. Instead, he allegedly drove through a yard, hit a parked vehicle and drove home.
