The man found dead Sunday night in the tall grass of the median of Ocmulgee East Boulevard had been reported missing more than a week ago.
The family of Otis Huston, 62, of Buffalo, N.Y., said they reported him missing June 4, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. His body was badly decomposed, but he appeared to be the victim of a hit-and-run car accident at least a day before he was found, Jones said.
Crime scene investigators from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office gathered evidence at the scene after the 7:30 p.m. Sunday discovery.
Bibb Sheriff’s Lt. George Meadows said debris from a vehicle was found nearby.

The body was near the intersection of Ocmulgee East Boulevard and Dillard Drive, close to the Geico office complex.
