Crawford County deputies have captured a man who escaped from the rear window of a marked patrol vehicle Thursday afternoon.
Deputies and members of the U.S. marshals’ Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jason Sauls, 29, of Old Knoxville Road, about 3:30 p.m. Thursday on charges of burglary, fleeing or trying to elude a police officer and on a probation warrant from the Peach County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.
Sauls escaped and ran into a wooded area while being driven to the Crawford County jail.
Deputies got a tip about 9:30 p.m. that Sauls had been spotted in the Old Knoxville Road area. Sauls was apprehended shortly after 10 p.m.
Further charges are pending, according to the release.
