Macon police are investigating an aggravated assault that took place Sunday afternoon in front of a house in the 1100 block of Washington Street.
According to a police report, a witness called police after he heard gunshots and saw a gold Lincoln Town Car speed off. When police arrived, the car was gone and the house was empty. Officers collected spent shells at the scene.
Officers were able to trace the car to an apartment in the 3400 block of Gledhill Street but couldn’t locate the owner. The car had a bullet hole in it.
When officers returned to the station, the owner of the house was there filing a police report. He said the driver of the car was the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend, with whom she had a son.
The owner of the house told officers the driver arrived at his house and started firing. He went into his house and retrieved his AK-47, firing back and forcing the driver to flee the scene.
The house owner told police that two vehicles at his residence were shot at earlier in the week.
