A 21-year-old Macon man was cut in the abdomen early Tuesday morning near the intersection of Roycrest Drive and Vineville Avenue, according to Macon police.
Nicholas Brandon Godfrey, of Magnolia Court, told police he walked to the Flash Foods convenience store on the corner of Vineville Avenue and Forest Hill Road at about 2:30 a.m. to meet three men. When he arrived and didn’t see the men, he walked toward Ridge Avenue and Roycrest Drive, according to a police report.
The men emerged from a dark area, confronted him and demanded money. When Godfrey replied he didn’t have “the money,” one of the men cut Godfrey in the abdomen and he was kicked in the head, causing him to lose consciousness, according to the report.
When Godfrey awoke, he walked to his grandmother’s home and she drove him to the hospital. The incident was drug-related, according to the police report.
