A 21-year-old Macon man has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with a Tuesday night shooting at a Walnut Creek Road apartment complex, according to Macon police.
Jerrell Dwayne Jackson, of Worsham Avenue, is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records.Macon police were called to the 2700 block of Walnut Creek Road about 10:20 p.m. about a shooting at the Oaks Apartments, according to a police news release.
Two people went to an apartment looking for someone. When they were told the person wasn’t there, one of the people pulled out a handgun and started shooting at the apartment’s occupants, according to police.
They then got into a dark colored sport utility vehicle and left. Within a few minutes, police spotted the SUV and took Jackson into custody, according to the release.
Lt. Eric Walker said no one was injured in the shooting.
The second person who went to the apartment with Jackson was taken into custody, but was not charged with a crime, Walker said.
