Macon police arrested Shondricus Demtrick Ingram Sr., 30, and charged him with battery, aggravated assault on a peace officer and felony obstruction.
Police were responding to a domestic disturbance call Thursday night at the Scottish Inn on Riverside Drive when Ingram attempted to flee and an officer chased him, the report stated.
Ingram reportedly managed to get the officer’s baton and started to strike him when a second officer arrived. That officer ordered Ingram several times to drop the weapon, but Ingram refused to comply. The second officer struck Ingram twice with his baton while the first officer tackled him.
According to the report, Ingram continued to fight with the officers before several other officers arrived on the scene. It took at least five officers to handcuff Ingram.

While at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Ingram reportedly gave officers his brother’s name while being questioned. Officers later learned Ingram was wanted for a probation violation on a Superior Court warrant. He also was charged Thursday with giving false information and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Bibb County jail.
