An escaped prisoner from the Crawford County jail was apprehended Monday night at a motel in Bibb County.
Jesse Dewayne Ballard, 32, was taken into custody by the fugitive squad at about 10:30 p.m., according to a Crawford County Sheriff’s Office news release.
In addition, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s report, seven other people were in the same motel room. Six were charged with possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of marijuana. Investigators discovered what they believe is crystal meth and marijuana in the motel room.
Among those arrested on the drug charges were: Kyle Henderson, 20, of Byron; Matthew Sauls, 22, of Roberta; Kimberly McDonald, 23, of Riverside Drive; Leonard Partain Jr., 24, of Oak Hill Drive; Cassandra Potter, 32, of Warner Robins; and Ballard, of Nowell Road.
Ballard, who escaped from the jail recreation yard Monday, is being held at the jail in a maximum security cell, according to the release.
Prior to his escape, Ballard was being held on a parole violation.
