Officials from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of a Cochran woman found in her home Tuesday evening.
Todd Lowery, the GBI agent in charge of the investigation, said Jenny Sapp, 64, was found dead by friends at her Woodland Trail home in Cochran sometime Tuesday evening. Sheriff’s officials asked the GBI to assist in the investigation, which hasn’t been ruled a homicide, Lowery said.
Lowery said investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy being conducted at the GBI crime lab to determine the cause of death. They are still awaiting a toxicology report, he said.
