Gordon police on Wednesday identified the man arrested Dec. 10 in a raid on a suspected dogfighting operation as Glen Porter.
Wilkinson County jail records show Porter, 40, of Fairview Apartments in Gordon, was charged with one count of cruelty to animals. He made bond the same day he was arrested.
Porter is charged in connection with a site at 113 Miller St. in Gordon, where police say the property owner didn’t know about the 13 dogs being kept there. The Atlanta Humane Society said about five of those dogs had been fought.
In a separate raid in unincorporated Wilkinson County hours later Dec. 10, Christopher “Tony” Antoina Williams, 41, was arrested at 5006 Ga. 57 on one charge of cruelty to dogs. Police seized 57 dogs from his property, and the Atlanta Humane Society said about 15 of those dogs have been fought. Williams was released on $10,000 bond. The dogs were taken by the Atlanta Humane Society.
Officials have said additional charges could be filed.
