A 28-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly robbing SunTrust Bank, 1104 Gray Highway, just before noon Monday, according to Macon police.
Andre Jordan, of Macon, allegedly displayed a knife to a teller while demanding money.
He ran out on foot and was nearly struck by a witness’s car, said Police Chief Mike Burns.
An officer, who happened to be across the road, spotted Jordan and apprehended him after a foot chase, Burns said. All the money from the bank was recovered.
Witnesses told police that Jordan attempted to follow a teller coming in the bank when the bank was opening and approached a customer at the ATM earlier in the day, Burns said.
