Macon police arrested a man who allegedly struck two nurses while he was being evaluated Sunday night at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, according to a police report.
The report said an officer at the hospital heard a scream and found two nurses bleeding.
A patient, James Coley Jr., 21, of Mayfield Drive, allegedly struck a woman in the face while she was taking his vital signs. Another nurse in the room tried to run to get help, but she was struck in the back of the head, allegedly by Coley. Coley’s father, James Coley Sr., was trying to restrain his son when officers arrived. Eventually, they were able to subdue the younger Coley, the report stated.
The elder Coley told police his son was at the hospital for medical treatment, but also needed a psychiatric evaluation. The younger Coley had been to Central State Hopsital on three previous occasions, his father told police.
