A woman told police that a man shot a hole in the gas tank of her car Saturday night during an alleged robbery. The crime happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Log Cabin Drive near Pike Street, according to a Macon police incident report.
The woman, who is 24 years old, told police that she and a male friend had arranged to meet a stranger at a Log Cabin Drive address to sell the stranger some DVDs.
The woman told police the DVDs were not bootlegged. When she arrived at the rendezvous, a man got in her car, pulled out a gun and demanded money.
She opened her purse to show the robber she didn’t have any money. The robber took $20 from the man in the car, fired a shot into the floor of the car and ran away, according to the police report.
The woman told police she drove the car away as it leaked fuel from a hole in the gas tank. The car ran out of gas on Forest Hill Road, so the woman and several friends pushed it into a church parking lot.
