Two Macon men are behind bars at the Bibb County jail on charges of cocaine trafficking in connection with a drug bust by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office late Tuesday, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
A sheriff’s office narcotics and vice unit investigator had received a tip about a cocaine delivery to Felton Homes, according to authorities. When a vehicle matching a description arrived shortly before midnight, investigators approached the car.
Authorities said 30-year-old Chastin Nipper, of East Napier Avenue, got out of the vehicle and led authorities on a foot chase before he was captured.
He was in possession of approximately 29 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of nearly $600, according to authorities.
More than $950 was seized from Nipper and Gary Webb, 35, of Shamrock Avenue, the driver of the car, according to the release. The vehicle also was seized.
Nipper remains in custody without bond on additional charges of violation of superior court probation, misdemeanor obstruction and drug activity within 1,000 feet of a government housing project, according to jail records.
Webb also remains in custody without bond on additional charges of violation of state parole, misdemeanor marijuana possession, drug activity within 1,000 feet of a government housing project and driving without a license, according to jail records.
