Arrest made in killing of 16-year-old Jayvon Sherman

A 19-year-old Macon man is charged with murder in the death of Jayvon Sherman, who was gunned down before school Oct. 19.

Wesley Jamison Holt was arrested Wednesday after information identified him as the suspect, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The Bibb County sheriff’s violent crimes unit, special investigations unit, outreach section and Bibb school system’s campus police worked the case that led to Holt’s arrest.

Sherman was found wounded near the front of the old Winship Elementary School on Beech Avenue, just a few blocks from where the teen attended Central High School.
