Teen charged with DUI in fatal collision

Courtney George Perry, 19, of Stockbridge, was charged with homicide by vehicle and DUI in the July 16 collision on Ga. 212 that killed 18-year-old Rachel Wall, who was thrown from the car between Ga. 129 and Twin Bridges Road about 10:20 p.m. that Saturday.

'It's very helpful,' Crescent House representative says of money donated from seized gambling funds

Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke released an accounting of how his office has spent the more than $1 million seized in recent gambling-related lawsuits while also pledging to match any donation up to $10,000 made to the Exchange Club of Macon's 16th annual golf tournament. The money will benefit the Crescent House, a children's advocacy center specializing in providing services to children who have been physically or sexually abused. Video by Amy Leigh Womack

Woman says suspect in Wesleyan ‘shooter’ scare accused her of violating Sharia law

Aminullah Rahmani, 45, the suspect in a Monday active shooter scare at Macon’s Wesleyan College, allegedly abused the mother of his children and accused her of violating Sharia law. She filed a restraining order against him Monday in Bibb County Superior Court. Warned of a possible “domestic situation” on campus, a group of faculty and staff had met with campus police Monday for an “active shooter” briefing. Soon after the meeting, one of them spotted Rahmani on campus and mistakenly told police there was an active shooter on campus, authorities say.

Macon man knifed in fuss over ice cream

Details were sketchy late Monday, but there was a reported stabbing prompted by an argument over ice cream on Swan Drive off Anthony Road in Macon. The supposed victim was gone when police arrived.

Man detained after disruption at Wesleyan College

Despite reports that an active shooter was on the loose at Wesleyan College Monday, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said there wasn’t one. Sheriff David Davis said a suspect is in custody involving a “domestic situation” on campus.

Gunman on bicycle shoots man in leg on Columbus Road

Traveon Robinson, 19, was shot in the leg just before 1:45 a.m. Aug. 29, 2016, while walking on Columbus Road near Montpelier Place in Macon, Georgia. Two men riding bicycles approached him, and one of the men shot him. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was investigating.
