Huntington Middle School held its annual open house July 26 -- a Saturday.
Called the “Hawk Fest” -- in honor of Huntington’s hawk mascot -- the event allowed parents to meet and talk with teachers and administrations from Huntington Middle School.
The theme of the day was “Huntington Middle School -- Where Learning is Fun,” and began with a welcome from Principal Gwendolyn Taylor and a tour.
Parents and students also were provided valuable information for the new school year. They spent time in the computer lab to receive help signing up for lunch and Infinite Campus -- an online service provided by the Houston County Board of Education that allows parents to view their children’s grades and attendance.
Never miss a local story.
Parents were able to meet with the band and choral directors to sign up their children for those programs.
After the school tour, students and parents joined faculty for outside activities and food. There also was a cupcake walk, face painting by the art teacher, a media center ball toss where students could win a prize, and musical chairs hosted by the choral director.
